Tulloch Homes donates Camanachd Cup Shinty Balls to Newtonmore Primary
25th May 2026
Tulloch Homes, part of the Springfield Group, has donated 125 official shinty balls from the 2025 Camanachd Cup to Newtonmore Primary School, celebrating the community’s success and inspiring the next generation of players.
The donation follows a landmark victory for Newtonmore Shinty Club, who lifted the 2025 Camanachd Cup. As one of the most prestigious competitions in shinty, the tournament holds a special place in the Highland sporting culture, with Tulloch Homes proud to be long-standing sponsors.
In a gesture designed to leave a lasting impact, each pupil at Newtonmore Primary School, a short walk from Tulloch’s Spey Green development, received a ball to take home, giving them a personal connection to the sport and encouraging them to get involved in their own time.
The donation reflects both the significance of the club’s achievement and the strong connection between shinty and the local community. By providing pupils with official match balls from the competition, Tulloch Homes hopes to encourage greater participation in the sport and celebrate the pride generated by Newtonmore’s success.
Kieran Graham, Tulloch Homes Managing Director said:
"Our support of the Camanachd Cup reflects a long-term commitment to the Highlands, its communities and the traditions that are such an important part of life here. We see first-hand the pride and identity that shinty brings to places like Newtonmore, and it’s important to us that we play a role in sustaining that.
“We take pride in supporting the communities in areas that we are selling our homes and by donating these balls to the school, we’re recognising a fantastic achievement on the pitch and also investing in the future of the sport by encouraging young people to get involved and carry that tradition forward."
Ruth McCarthy, Newtonmore Primary School Head Teacher, added:
“We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Tulloch Homes for providing shinty balls for all our pupils. Their support gives every young person the chance to play, learn, and fall in love with shinty. It helps them stay connected to a sport that carries deep cultural significance in our community.”
Tulloch Homes has supported the Camanachd Cup since 2017 and has committed to the Cup until 2027, helping to promote and sustain the sport while championing its cultural importance across the Highlands. The final remains a highlight of the shinty calendar, showcasing the very best of the game and the communities behind it.
This latest initiative forms part of Tulloch Homes’ wider commitment to supporting grassroots sport and community development, ensuring that shinty continues to thrive for future generations.
