Tulloch Homes extension marks a decade of support for Shinty

10th April 2024

In a major milestone underscoring its ongoing commitment to Scottish communities, Tulloch Homes and the Camanachd Association are proud to announce an extension of the homebuilder’s sponsorship of shinty's premier event, the Camanachd Cup.

Since forging its partnership with the Camanachd Association in 2017, Tulloch Homes has been instrumental in sustaining shinty’s blue riband event. The 2024 Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final is set to take place on September 21st at An Aird, Fort William.

The first two finals of the Tulloch Homes era saw Newtonmore and Lovat take to the field for shinty’s greatest prize with the Badenoch side prevailing on each occasion, 3-2 at Bught Park and 3-0 at Mossfield. It was different opposition for ‘More in 2019 but the same end result as they lifted the famous trophy for the 34th time after vanquishing Oban Camanachd 5-1 at An Aird.

There was no final to report on for 2020 due to the pandemic, however, Tulloch Homes would once again show that they are true friends of the sport by sponsoring the ‘phantom’ final. 2021 saw shinty bounce back and a new name was etched upon the famous trophy as Kinlochshiel defeated Lovat 3-1 at Mossfield Oban. In 2022, Kingussie would both host and win the final (3-1 against Lovat) as they took the bold step to combine the final with the “Final Fling” concert adding some musical magic to shinty’s blue riband event. In the most recent instalment, Kingussie and Oban took to Bught Park, Inverness for the 100th anniversary of the first final in the city in 1923 – Kings would retain the trophy thanks to a goal from Ruaridh Anderson in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Burton Morrison, Camanachd Association President said:

“The Association is delighted to confirm the extension of our agreement with Tulloch Homes which assures us of their continuing sponsorship of the Camanachd Cup competition up until the 2027 final.

"We are extremely grateful for this ongoing commitment to shinty which has developed into a strong partnership reflecting their significant contribution to local communities and beyond, and endorsing the role shinty plays in these communities.”

Tulloch Homes Managing Director, Sandy Grant, said:

"We are thrilled to continue our journey alongside the Camanachd Association, extending our sponsorship of the Camanachd Cup to the 2027 Final. This decade-long commitment reflects our deep-rooted belief in the power of shinty to unite communities and inspire future generations. We look forward to celebrating the sport's continued growth and success in the years to come."
