Colin Rae

Colin brings to the Board, over 35 years of experience in the property development sector, where he is widely regarded as a trusted advisor.

Amongst other roles he currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Housing Growth Partnership, supporting strategic funding and delivery initiatives across the UK housing landscape. 

Previously, Colin held the role of Group Executive Development Director at Places for People, where he led a nationwide mixed-tenure housing programme valued at approximately £200 million. This role stands as a career highlight, reflecting his deep commitment to building high-performing teams and delivering vibrant, sustainable communities. 

A Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Colin holds a BSc in Quantity Surveying. He maintains a strong interest in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and innovative construction methods, particularly off-site solutions. At Springfield, he contributes his expertise across the ESG, Audit, Remuneration, and Nomination Committees.

Based in Edinburgh, Colin enjoys spending time in the Scottish Highlands near his family home in Newtonmore, where he pursues outdoor activities such as paddleboarding, cycling, and hillwalking. He and his wife Gillian are proud parents of a son and two daughters, and take great joy in watching them forge their own professional paths.
