Elgin South

Like all Springfield villages, Elgin South has been designed with the community in mind. The village will be around 2,500 homes – including affordable. It will offer a range of local amenities all within a 20-minute walk of the customers’ front door, and there will be open green space and play parks throughout.

Made up of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom highly energy efficient homes, once complete, the village will transform the south side of Elgin. There will be communal areas, open green spaces, shops, cafes, and other leisure opportunities – everything a village needs to thrive.

Elgin South is well connected with walking and cycle routes throughout the village, connecting to established networks, and bus, rail and road links to the wider area. Springfield worked closely with the Council at the design stages of the 204-hectare site – which is roughly the size of 167 football pitches – to create a place people will want to live.

And work is already underway. There are around 370 people calling Elgin South home, the state-of-the-art Moray Sports centre, complete with meeting rooms, soft play and a coffee shop, is a staple within the community and Linkwood Primary School welcomed their first students in 2021.
