IT Support Technician

The Springfield Group are recruiting for an IT Support Technician to join our team based in Elgin. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting the group across multiple office and site locations.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our Group IT team, you will:

  • Provide first-line support for IT issues via ticketing system, phone, email, and in person.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Set up and maintain user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
  • Support Windows desktops, laptops, and Office 365 applications.
  • Log and track support requests using our helpdesk system.
  • Escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Assist with routine system checks and updates.

Skills & Experience

  • Basic experience in IT (e.g. troubleshooting PCs, printers, software).
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Understanding of user account management and basic networking.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and document work clearly.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience with Active Directory or Group Policy.
  • Exposure to Office 365 admin tools.
  • Microsoft certifications.
  • Interest in progressing to 2nd line support.
